Crypto Meets Mind: First Brainwave Wallet Prototype Successfully Tested

In a world-first fusion of neurotechnology and blockchain, Swiss neurotech startup NeuroVault AG has successfully tested a prototype wallet controlled entirely by brainwaves.

Crypto Meets Mind: First Brainwave Wallet Prototype Successfully Tested

Dubbed NeuroKey, the device allows users to access, authorize, and send cryptocurrency transactions simply by thinking specific thought patterns. The test was conducted in partnership with the University of Zurich’s Department of Neural Interfaces and has already completed multiple secure Bitcoin microtransactions using brainwave authentication.

How It Works

NeuroKey uses a lightweight, wearable EEG (electroencephalogram) headset paired with proprietary AI that maps brainwave signals to specific actions. Instead of typing a passphrase or using biometric scans, users "think" predefined sequences, which trigger cryptographic operations.

The underlying wallet uses MPC (multi-party computation) and cold storage signatures to ensure military-grade security—even if the headset is stolen or hacked.

Why This Matters

This tech could redefine the meaning of secure, hands-free finance. It’s particularly promising for individuals with mobility impairments, or in environments where traditional authentication is not viable.

NeuroVault AG plans a closed beta by Q4 2025, targeting high-net-worth individuals, cybersecurity firms, and luxury crypto custodians.
